Site Manager - Demolition / Enabling Works

Midlands / UK Projects | Permanent | Competitive Salary + Package

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join one of the UK's established specialist contractors, delivering complex demolition, deconstruction and enabling works projects across the Midlands and wider UK.

This is an opportunity to join a business with an excellent reputation for tackling technically challenging projects across demolition, remediation, earthworks, civils and groundworks, working for major public and private-sector clients.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, we’re looking for a Site Manager who genuinely understands demolition and can take responsibility for the safe, efficient and successful delivery of projects on site.

The Role

As Site Manager, you’ll take day-to-day responsibility for your project, managing site teams, specialist operatives, subcontractors, plant and resources.

Safety will be absolutely fundamental.

You’ll ensure projects are properly planned, controlled and delivered in accordance with programme, RAMS, current legislation and the company’s high standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Day-to-day management of demolition projects
• Managing site operatives and subcontractors
• Planning and coordinating works
• Managing plant, machinery and site resources
• Ensuring RAMS are understood and followed
• Site inductions and daily briefings
• Health, safety and environmental management
• Monitoring programme and progress
• Maintaining accurate site records and diaries
• Quality control
• Client liaison
• Managing site logistics
• Coordinating waste and materials
• Producing regular progress reports
• Identifying and resolving potential site issues
• Driving projects through to safe and successful completion

Your Background

This role requires somebody with genuine demolition experience.

We’re particularly interested in Site Managers who have delivered projects involving areas such as:

Structural Demolition | Deconstruction | High-Reach Demolition | Soft Strip | Enabling Works | Site Clearance | Temporary Works | Remediation | Earthworks

You should have a strong understanding of demolition methodology, sequencing, risk management and the particular health & safety requirements associated with complex demolition projects.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Significant demolition industry experience
• Previous experience operating at Site Manager level
• CCDO Demolition Manager Black Card or equivalent
• Strong health & safety knowledge
• Experience managing demolition operatives and specialist subcontractors
• Excellent understanding of RAMS
• Experience coordinating heavy plant and machinery
• Strong organisational and programming ability
• Excellent client-facing communication skills
• Good IT and reporting skills
• Full UK driving licence

The Projects

No two projects are going to be exactly the same.

You could be managing complex structural demolition, city-centre regeneration, industrial deconstruction, education projects, commercial buildings, brownfield redevelopment or enabling works ahead of major construction schemes.

Projects can involve challenging live environments, high-rise structures, temporary works, hazardous materials, restricted sites and complex interfaces with surrounding buildings and infrastructure.

The business also provides an integrated approach encompassing demolition, land remediation, earthworks, civils and groundworks, creating opportunities to gain exposure beyond traditional demolition.
