Opportunity Overview
This is an exciting expatriate opportunity to work on an international construction project in Africa. Applicants will be required to obtain UK standard baseline security clearance to secure the role.
Task Descriptions
- Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, staff, and supply chain within their control under the strict observance of the G3 Systems Safety policy.
- Ensure sub-contractors plan, operate, and deliver the contract according to their scope of work and the project programme in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Ensure sub-contractors deliver in accordance with the agreed design and quality standards.
- Manage the site diary following company best practices.
- Provide weekly reports to the Project Manager as per the contract requirements.
- Ensure site activities comply with UK health and safety standards, with standards agreed at project outset.
- Implement and manage a site induction process.
- Develop and deliver toolbox talks.
- Manage site access restrictions and equipment usage procedures.
- Manage permits to work on site.
- Drive continuous safety improvements.
- Oversee the successful safe completion of the project, including quality, time, procurement, and client interface, leading by example and reporting to the Project Manager.
- Encourage and coach team members, providing regular feedback and challenging learning experiences.
- Develop detailed plans aligned with the overall project plan for procurement and scheduling of materials, resources, and supply chain.
- Attend site meetings, progress reviews, safety meetings, and stakeholder reviews as appropriate.
- Identify and report contract variations.
- Serve as the point of contact for site security and welfare.
Qualifications Required
- Valid First Aid at Work Certificate
- NVQ Level 3-4 BTEC diploma in Building Construction or similar
- Valid Scaffold Inspection certificate
- Valid LOLER certificate
- SMSTS certification
Skills and Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Experience managing all aspects of the build process.
- Good knowledge of NEC Contracts.
- Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety obligations and building legislation.
- Understanding of the considerate contractor's requirements for high scoring.
