We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join an established, family-run construction business specialising in high-quality commercial office fit-outs and refurbishments.
This is a key position within the Projects team, taking ownership of the day-to-day delivery of commercial fit-out projects and ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, on programme and to an exceptional standard.
The successful candidate will be hands-on, organised and confident managing subcontractors, site teams and project logistics while maintaining excellent relationships with clients and the wider project team.
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for:
Managing the day-to-day running and coordination of construction sites.
Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries and site logistics.
Managing workforce and ensuring works remain aligned with the project programme.
Carrying out daily quality inspections and driving a snag-free approach.
Identifying and resolving buildability, sequencing and logistical issues.
Providing regular updates to the Project Manager on progress, risks and variations.
Conducting site inductions, briefings and toolbox talks.
Ensuring full compliance with CDM, health & safety and environmental requirements.
Maintaining site risk registers and reporting incidents, near misses and breaches.
Producing and maintaining Construction Phase Plans, RAMS and site safety documentation.
Recording daily site activities, challenges and client communications.
Leading and motivating site teams and subcontractors.
Managing project close-out, including snagging and ensuring the site is left to the required standard.
Supporting the delivery of high-quality commercial interiors and workspaces.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and proactive Site Manager with a background in commercial interior fit-out or refurbishment.
You will ideally have:
Proven Site Management experience within commercial fit-out.
Experience working on Cat A and Cat B office fit-out projects.
Strong subcontractor and site team management experience.
Excellent understanding of H&S and CDM regulations.
Experience producing or managing RAMS and Construction Phase Plans.
Strong quality control and snagging experience.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
The confidence to communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
A practical, solutions-focused approach to site challenges.
The ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Strong IT skills and confidence using project management software.
Previous trade experience, such as carpentry, dry lining or another construction trade, would be advantageous but is not essential.
