Job summary

Lovell is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our Operations team in delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment projects on-site. You will oversee subcontractors and directly employed teams, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

Reporting to the Project Manager or Partnership Manager, you will drive performance, uphold health and safety obligations, maintain client and resident relationships, and deliver an exceptional customer

Qualifications

• Experience progressing from a construction background into site management.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and site practices.
• Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify contractual variations.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
• Prepare and manage programmes of work, targets and objectives.
• Ensure health, safety, welfare and employment compliance.
• Monitor contract requirements and fulfil contractual obligations.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, residents and stakeholders.

About the Role

Lovell is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Manager to join our Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Reporting to the Project Manager or Partnership Manager, you will oversee operational delivery on site, manage subcontractors and directly employed teams, and maintain strong relationships with clients, residents, and stakeholders. You will be responsible for driving performance, ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the successful delivery of projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Prepare and manage programmes of work, operational targets, and project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, welfare, and employment legislation.
• Monitor contract requirements and ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, residents, and key stakeholders.
• Respond to and resolve client enquiries, issues, and requests within agreed timescales.
• Effectively manage engineers and subcontractors, providing technical guidance and performance management.
• Lead team meetings and communicate health and safety updates, company information, and performance feedback.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor health and safety standards, quality of work, and productivity.
• Review and prepare site reports, designs, drawings, and project documentation.
• Work closely with commercial teams to manage costs, budgets, and project profitability.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused individual with proven site management experience within construction, planned maintenance, property services, or a similar environment.

You will have:

• Previous experience progressing from a trade or construction background into site management.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site management practices.
• Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify contractual variations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and other project management software.

Essential Qualifications

• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
• IOSH Managing Safely
• CSCS Manager Card
• Relevant construction qualification such as HND, Foundation Degree, Degree, or equivalent experience.
