Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across healthcare, education, residential, and commercial schemes in Yorkshire. You will coordinate site staff and contractors, plan activities, and work with PMs to maintain programme and cost control.

You will lead safety compliance with our HSE team, ensuring high-quality delivery and smooth progress meetings with stakeholders. A regional role requires a strong leadership presence.

Qualifications

  • Extensive site management experience, ideally on industrial new builds.
  • Ability to plan all aspects of complex construction operations and produce robust programmes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and strong commercial awareness.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and people management skills.
  • Academic qualification in construction is an advantage.
  • In-date qualifications such as SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS (Black Managers), asbestos awareness, working at height, scaffold inspection are desirable.
  • Full driving licence is essential for the regional role.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct site staff and contractors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Plan and programme all site activities, coordinating labour and resources.
  • Work with Contracts/Project Managers to keep projects on programme and within budget.
  • Identify and resolve issues; implement corrective actions.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and lead progress meetings.
  • Uphold high safety standards with in-house HSE team to ensure everyone goes home safe.

Job description

Are you an experienced Site Manager looking to take the next step in your career with a leading regional contractor? You'll be instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day running on a variety of healthcare/educational/residential/commercial schemes throughout the Yorkshire region.


Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Site Manager you will be a key player in our success, responsible for:



  • Coordinating and directing both our directly employed site staff and valued contractors, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.

  • Planning and programming all site activities, meticulously coordinating labour and resources to ensure seamless operations.

  • Working in close partnership with Contracts/Project Managers to ensure projects progress according to programme, with a sharp focus on effective cost control and delivering value.

  • Proactively identifying and resolving any issues that arise, planning and implementing corrective actions promptly.

  • Providing regular, clear updates to stakeholders and leading productive progress and subcontractor meetings.

  • Upholding our commitment to high quality and paramount safety standards, working closely in-house Health, Safety and Environmental Team. Your dedication to ensuring \"we all go home safe, every day\" is paramount.


To thrive in this role, you'll need:



  • Extensive previous site management experience ideally working on Industrial new builds.

  • The proven ability to plan all aspects of complex construction operations and produce robust construction programmes.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and a keen commercial awareness.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and people management skills. You'll be a friendly, professional, and collaborative point of contact for colleagues, contractors, clients, and all supply chain partners, embodying our partnership approach.

  • An academic qualification (HNC, HND, Degree in a construction-related subject) is a distinct advantage, demonstrating your commitment to professional development.

  • In-date qualifications and training such as SMSTS, First Aid, Black Managers CSCS card, asbestos awareness, working at height, and scaffold inspection are highly desirable.

  • A full driving licence is essential for this regional role.
