Construction in Southampton is seeking a Mechanical Site Manager for a laboratory refurbishment programme. You will oversee day-to-day site operations, coordinating M&E trades, managing safety and reporting to the project team to meet programme and quality targets.
The role requires a mechanically biased background, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, and strong communication. You will work on a long-term contract with on-site duties and use PowerPoint and MS Project for weekly progress updates.
I am currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a leading global Facilities Management and Real Estate organisation on a laboratory refurbishment and relocation programme in Southampton.
The project is due to start in mid-September and is expected to run for several months. The works will involve decanting existing laboratories, refurbishing laboratory spaces and coordinating the relocation of equipment and services.
We are specifically looking for somebody local to Southampton who has previous experience managing laboratory refurbishment projects and technically complex M&E works.
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the works, ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required programme and quality standards.
You will coordinate subcontractors and specialist trades, oversee Health & Safety on site and provide regular updates to the wider project team.
The role will also require strong reporting and administration skills, including producing weekly progress reports using PowerPoint and working with Microsoft Project.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to secure a long-term contract on a technically interesting laboratory refurbishment programme, with works expected to continue for several months.
