Job summary

O'Neill & Brennan are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager / Senior Site Manager to lead a brand-new residential development in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. You will take charge of day-to-day delivery from site set-up through to completion, coordinating trades and ensuring quality and safety standards.

The role requires proven delivery experience in residential construction, working for housebuilders or main contractors, with SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.

Site Manager / Senior Site Manager

Location: Shepton Mallet, Somerset

Salary: £70,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance

Start Date: Early November

O'Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager / Senior Site Manager to take the lead on a brand-new residential development in Shepton Mallet.

This is an opportunity to join an established residential developer at the beginning of a new scheme, taking responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of the development from initial site set-up through to completion.

The project will consist of Housing Association properties, and we are looking for a strong, delivery-focused Site Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of a development and maintaining high standards across build quality, programme and health & safety.

The Role

As the lead Site Manager on the development, you will be responsible for:

• Taking day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of the development
• Managing the site from initial set-up and groundworks through to completion and handover
• Coordinating subcontractors, trades and site resources
• Driving the build programme and ensuring key milestones are achieved
• Maintaining high standards of quality throughout the development
• Managing health & safety and ensuring site compliance
• Working closely with the wider construction, commercial and technical teams
• Managing inspections, snagging and handovers
• Maintaining clear communication with senior management and relevant stakeholders

The Candidate

We are looking to speak with experienced Site Managers or Senior Site Managers with a proven background in residential construction.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience delivering new-build residential developments
• Experience working for a recognised housebuilder, residential developer or main contractor
• A strong understanding of traditional residential build programmes and sequencing
• The ability to lead a development and manage subcontractors effectively
• Excellent standards around quality, health & safety and site presentation
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
• Experience delivering Housing Association / affordable housing developments would be advantageous, although candidates with a strong wider residential background will also be considered.

Location & Future Opportunities

The initial development is based in Shepton Mallet, with a planned start at the beginning of November.

With further developments planned across the region, candidates living within the wider Shepton Mallet to Bristol corridor would be particularly well positioned for future schemes and longer-term progression within the business.
