Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking an experienced Modular Site Manager to oversee the safe, efficient delivery of modular construction projects from mobilisation through to handover. You will coordinate site activities, subcontractors and installation teams while ensuring work is delivered on programme, within budget and to quality and health and safety standards.

The role requires BPSS clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain BPSS screening.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager in construction or modular projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple site activities.
• SMSTS and CSCS or equivalent site-management qualifications.
• First Aid competency and BPSS clearance eligibility.
• Knowledge of UK construction regulations and RAMS documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations for modular construction and installation projects.
• Coordinate modular unit deliveries, lifting operations and assembly activities.
• Supervise subcontractors, specialist contractors and site operatives.
• Ensure works meet drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Plan site logistics, access, deliveries, storage and lifting activities.
• Monitor progress against the construction programme and report issues.
• Deliver site inductions, coordination meetings and safety briefings.
• Maintain health, safety, environmental compliance and site security.
• Ensure RAMS, permits and site documentation are in place and followed.
• Carry out quality inspections and rectify defects.
• Liaise with client, consultants, management team and supply chain.

Modular Site Manager - BPSS Cleared

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Modular Site Manager to oversee the safe, efficient and successful delivery of modular construction projects from site mobilisation through to completion and handover.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating site activities, subcontractors, suppliers and installation teams, while ensuring that works are delivered to programme, budget, quality and health and safety requirements. Due to the nature of the projects, the successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations for modular construction and installation projects.
• Coordinate modular unit deliveries, lifting operations, installation and assembly activities.
• Supervise subcontractors, specialist contractors and site operatives.
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
• Plan and coordinate site logistics, access, deliveries, storage and lifting activities.
• Monitor progress against the construction programme and report issues or delays promptly.
• Conduct site inductions, briefings and regular coordination meetings.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and site security.
• Ensure RAMS, permits and other site documentation are in place and followed.
• Carry out quality inspections and ensure defects are identified and rectified.
• Liaise with the client, consultants, project management team and supply chain.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, progress updates and handover documentation.
• Support commissioning, snagging, completion and final handover.
• Identify potential risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Ensure all personnel comply with project-specific security and access requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction, modular construction, off-site manufacturing or a related environment.
• Strong understanding of construction site management and health and safety requirements.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple site activities simultaneously.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant site management qualifications, such as SMSTS.
• CSCS or equivalent appropriate site-management card.
• First Aid qualification.
• Willingness and eligibility to undergo BPSS clearance.
• Full understanding of site safety procedures and UK construction regulations.

Desirable

• Experience delivering modular, volumetric or off-site construction projects.
• Experience working on government, public-sector, infrastructure or secure sites.
• Temporary Works Coordinator or Temporary Works Supervisor experience.
• Relevant construction or engineering qualification.
• Experience with project reporting and construction management software.
