Job summary

Building Careers UK is seeking an experienced Site Manager for a 4-month freelance contract in Manchester city centre to deliver a CAT B office fit-out.

You will manage day-to-day site operations, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to high quality standards. Must have FSMTS, CSCS, and First Aid at Work credentials, with proficiency in Procure.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering office fit-out projects for a main contractor.
• Strong understanding of commercial fit-out programmes and sequencing.
• Experience with temporary works and temporary works procedures.
• Competent user of Procure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.
• Drive programme performance and proactively resolve site issues to minimise delays.
• Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and housekeeping.
• Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety inspections.
• Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Manage site logistics, deliveries, and coordination of multiple trades.
• Complete daily site records, progress reports, and project documentation using Procure.

A leading fit out contractor require an experienced Site Manager for a 4-month freelance contract to deliver a CAT B office fit out project in Manchester city centre.

This role requires a hands-on Site Manager with a proven track record of delivering high-quality commercial fit out projects. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining programme, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.
• Drive programme performance and proactively resolve site issues to minimise delays.
• Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and housekeeping.
• Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety inspections.
• Liaise effectively with the Project Manager, client representatives, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Manage site logistics, deliveries, and the coordination of multiple trades.
• Complete daily site records, progress reports, and project documentation using Procure.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience managing office fit out and refurbishment projects for a main contractor.
• Strong understanding of commercial fit out programmes and project sequencing.
• Experience of temporary works and a sound knowledge of temporary works procedures.
• Competent user of Procure.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage fast-paced projects while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
