Atlas Facilities Management is looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager with industrial cleaning experience. The role will be based at the British Gypsum site in Barrow-upon-Soar.

Gypsum is the vital raw material at the heart of plaster and plasterboard. It is mined and milled at the Barrow plant, where a finished plaster product is produced and sold to building companies worldwide.

The process generates a lot of dust, requiring a highly organized, four-bridge style cleaning approach. We seek a person who can lead a team of 10, mainly full-time operatives, to continuously improve standards to meet our client’s expectations.

What we are paying: Circa £35,000

The hours you shall be working will be: 45 hours per week from 6 am to 3 pm, with breaks included.

What you shall be doing/responsible for

  • Strategic planning and innovation to enhance services across the plant.
  • Develop and maintain excellent client relationships to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Recruit, motivate, and develop direct reports.
  • Develop your team through appraisals, feedback, performance management, and personal coaching.
  • Communicate regularly with your team through team talks, monthly meetings, and toolbox talks to ensure effective information flow.
  • Control contract operations, wage budgets, client satisfaction, service delivery, client meetings, and complaint reports.
  • Ensure activities comply with quality management, health & safety, legal, environmental policies, and duty of care standards.
  • Promote the Company’s values, ensuring integrity and corporate social responsibility.
  • Audit the site monthly to ensure cleaning standards and compliance with health and safety and site procedures, meeting client KPIs.
  • Communicate and liaise at all levels within the company, ensuring correct information flow.
  • Attend daily site update meetings and weekly/monthly client reviews to discuss performance and innovation.
  • Ensure all PPM works are scheduled, sub-contractor inductions and work permits are completed, and relevant RAMS are provided.
  • Place orders for stores and consumables.
  • Identify daily attention areas and update work schedules accordingly, providing rosters for your team.
  • Compile monthly reports for the client and Atlas management as required.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience, skills, and behaviors necessary for the role:

  • Ability to work well under pressure and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Management experience in an industrial environment.
  • Strong team ethic and flexibility.
  • Outstanding customer service and analytical skills.
  • IT literacy.
  • Experience in KPI management and compliance with SLAs.
  • Health & safety awareness, ideally IOSH.
  • Right to work in the UK (please bring evidence to the interview).
