Job summary

Bowden Jones Recruitment is recruiting for a Site Manager on behalf of a well-established construction contractor based in South Wales. The role is based from Swansea with projects UK-wide and requires travel and occasional weekend work.

You'll lead on-site operations, manage site teams and subcontractors, maintain high health and safety standards, review RAMS, liaise with clients and the Contracts Manager, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Manager within construction.
• SMSTS qualification or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety and site compliance.
• Experience managing subcontractors and direct labour.

Location: Based from Swansea, with projects across the UK (working away required)

About the Company

Our client is a well-established construction contractor based in South Wales, delivering commercial refurbishment, redevelopment and petrol forecourt projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint experienced Site Managers to join their operational team.

About the Role

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction contractor who delivers commercial refurbishment and redevelopment projects across the UK.

They're looking for experienced Site Managers who enjoy being out on site, leading teams and driving projects forward. This isn't a site office-based management role, and it isn't a working foreman position either. They're looking for someone who strikes the balance between managing the project and being visible on site.

Projects typically include:

• Commercial refurbishments
• Retail developments
• Shop extensions
• Petrol forecourt projects

Travel is a key part of the role, with work taking place across the UK. You'll need to be happy working away during the week, with occasional weekend work when projects require it.

Responsibilities

• You'll be responsible for:

What We're Looking For

• We're keen to speak with candidates who have:
• Previous experience as a Site Manager within construction.
• SMSTS qualification.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety and site compliance.
• Experience managing subcontractors and direct labour.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Basic to intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Office).
• A full UK driving licence.
• Flexibility to work away from home on projects across the UK.
• Experience within construction or petrol forecourts is essessntial.
