Fawkes & Reece London is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee day-to-day operations on healthcare/educational/commercial schemes across Yorkshire.

You'll lead directly employed site staff and subcontractors, plan and program activities, monitor costs, and drive safety with our in-house teams, ensuring projects progress on time and to the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Extensive site management experience on industrial new builds.
  • Ability to plan complex construction programmes.
  • Strong commercial awareness and cost control.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Academic construction qualification(s) are an advantage.
  • In-date safety training and relevant certifications are desirable.
  • Full driving licence is essential for regional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate site staff and contractors to ensure efficient operations.
  • Plan and program all site activities and allocate resources.
  • Work with Contracts/Project Managers to keep projects on programme and budget.
  • Identify and resolve issues; implement corrective actions.
  • Provide regular progress updates and run subcontractor meetings.
  • Maintain high quality and safety standards in collaboration with the HSE team.

Role: Site Manager

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: £55,000/£60,000 + Package

Are you an experienced Site Manager looking to take the next step in your career with a leading regional contractor? You'll be instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day running on a variety of healthcare/educational/residential/commercial schemes throughout the Yorkshire region.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Site Manager you will be a key player in our success, responsible for:

  • Coordinating and directing both our directly employed site staff and valued contractors, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  • Planning and programming all site activities, meticulously coordinating labour and resources to ensure seamless operations.
  • Working in close partnership with Contracts/Project Managers to ensure projects progress according to programme, with a sharp focus on effective cost control and delivering value.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving any issues that arise, planning and implementing corrective actions promptly.
  • Providing regular, clear updates to stakeholders and leading productive progress and subcontractor meetings.
  • Upholding our commitment to high quality and paramount safety standards, working closely in-house Health, Safety and Environmental Team. Your dedication to ensuring "we all go home safe, every day" is paramount.
Essential Requirements:

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Extensive previous site management experience ideally working on Industrial new builds.
  • The proven ability to plan all aspects of complex construction operations and produce robust construction programmes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and a keen commercial awareness.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and people management skills. You'll be a friendly, professional, and collaborative point of contact for colleagues, contractors, clients, and all supply chain partners, embodying our partnership approach.
  • An academic qualification (HNC, HND, Degree in a construction-related subject) is a distinct advantage, demonstrating your commitment to professional development.
  • In-date qualifications and training such as SMSTS, First Aid, Black Managers CSCS card, asbestos awareness, working at height, and scaffold inspection are highly desirable.
  • A full driving licence is essential for this regional role.
