Job summary

LMG is seeking a Site Manager to lead on-site installation, support and maintenance of smart building technology across client sites in London and beyond.

You will coordinate cabling, AV, security and IoT workstreams, ensuring delivery on time and to budget while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing on-site installation and maintenance of smart building technology.
• Knowledge of copper and fibre ICT infrastructure and AV/security systems.
• Strong health and safety discipline with RAMS and site compliance.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

As a Site Manager, you will be based within our Design and Build Team, responsible for the on-site installation, support, and maintenance of specialist smart building technology across a number of well-established Client sites.

Whilst you will have strong underlying competencies in managing the installation of Structured Cabling projects, you will also have a willingness to learn and further develop skills, working across multiple smart technologies including, Audio‑Visual, Electronic Security, IoT and Wired, Wireless & Mobile Networks.

You will be responsible for managing and coordinating on site installations teams, liaising with site personnel to ensure all works are coordinated whilst managing all documentation. You will also provide consistently high levels of customer service, this being a vital part of the role, and achieved by working diligently to accurately interpret and deliver our customers’ needs.

By demonstrating solid levels of knowledge, skills and expertise in cabling infrastructure and site management, you will help the team to deliver projects on time and on budget, with a focus on technical excellence and maintaining Health and Safety standards.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Copper and Fibre ICT Infrastructure, Smart Building Technologies and Systems

• Manage the installation of Structure Cabling, Security and AV Infrastructure projects in co-ordination with other LMG operatives.
• Manage the installation of Cabinets and Frames, including the quality, snagging through to completion
• Conduct infrastructure testing with Fluke test equipment and management software (Linkware) and ensure compliance with manufacturer, customer, and published standards
• Manage the Containment systems for all works (SCS, Security, AV) during the project, in coordination of other TC's to LMG issued Construction installation drawings.
• Oversee the installation of end-point equipment i.e. Electronics Security (cameras & doors), Wi-Fi & Mobile Access Points, IoT Sensors and Audio Visual devices using appropriate fixings and media.
• Oversee the installation of network equipment into cabinets, in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications, including servers, routers, switches, controllers and WAN equipment.
• Manage Authorised Partners (sub-contractors) and allocated technical services staff with clear definition of engagement terms and responsibilities.

Maintenance and Fault Finding

• Assist in the handover of all systems including documentation and witness testing (where applicable).
• Organise the site engineering team to repair any faults found on the installation and clear snags (both LMG and Clients notifications).

Internal Support

• Prepare site documentation, including producing labels, installation packs, updating progress reports through to completion tasks including test records, As-Built drawings and O&M manuals.
• Report on progress and any issues affecting the work to relevant parties, using designated systems and agreed processes.
• Update project progress records via project tools, both internal (Monday.com) and external (Client apps).
• Coordinate all site deliveries (incl. bookings & logistics) and daily stock control of materials on site.
• Create benchmarking documents, making sure the quality of the install is in line with benchmarking specified.

Health & Safety

• Prepare and Comply with Risk Assessment, Method Statement (RAMS) and on-site Health and Safety requirements.
• Carry out toolbox talks, ensuring that the team are up to date with Health and Safety legislation on site.
• Report any Incidents, Accidents, Near Misses & any other issues with Site H&S as soon as they happen to both LMG H&S team, the Project SPM / PM, ensuring that the Client is notified.
• Oversee the management of on-site materials, ensuring that they are stored correctly, do not pose a hazard, and all waste materials are disposed as per the site regulations.
• Ensure all LMG staff and Authorised Partners have the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the works being undertaken and are abiding by the site H&S rules at all times.
• Work from construction drawings, diagrams and schematics, scopes, and specifications, ensuring responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974; in particular, the need to take care of own health and safety in the workplace, whilst also being responsible for those that might be affected by own actions.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Full, clean Driving Licence.

• Minimum 5 A*-C GCSE's, including Maths and English.
• First Aid
• IPAF or PASMA.
• CTPM
• PAT testing

Experience

• Relevant practical experience in a similar role.
• Management of Patching / WAP installation.
• Experience installing mainstream copper and fibre ICT cabling systems.
• Familiar with containment installation, different types, environments, and uses.
• Awareness of Audio Visual, Electronic Security, IoT, and Wired & Wireless Network architecture.
