Job summary

Equans is seeking a Site Manager to join our team in Norfolk on a full-time basis. The role involves managing refurbishment projects for social housing, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

A UK driving license is essential, and a competitive salary plus benefits package is offered. You will oversee site activities, coordinate with subcontractors, and report progress to the Contracts Manager and client.

Qualifications

  • Previous Site Management experience, including refurbishment and framework projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of building and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Financial and commercial awareness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, programs, and specifications.
  • Understanding of local government and partnership arrangements.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification.
  • Additional relevant H&S certifications (asbestos, scaffolding, etc.).
  • Applicants will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks as applicable.
  • Full valid driving license.

Responsibilities

  • The Site Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of construction activities for a designated project, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Overseeing project timelines, health and safety compliance, and quality control while managing site teams, subcontractors, and resources.
  • Assist the Contracts Manager with project pre-start activities and client meetings.
  • Provide monthly progress reports to the Contracts Manager and client.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures, including PPE, inductions, risk assessments, and permits.
  • Conduct scaffold, lifting equipment, and SHEQ inspections, reporting findings as required.
  • Maintain site safety, tidiness, and Health & Safety documentation.
  • Manage defects, quality standards, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Lead, support, and develop site teams and subcontractors, managing performance where necessary.
  • Liaise with Contracts Managers, Project Managers, consultants, clients, and other key stakeholders.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced site manager with both internal and external refurbishment experience. You will be working on social housing therefor should have experience in refurbishments with residents in occupation. Please note a full UK driving license is essential for this role.
