Job summary

Gearing Recruitment Solutions Ltd are seeking an experienced Site Manager for a major AMP8 water treatment project in Egham, Surrey. You will lead safe, on-site delivery of multiple work packages, coordinating teams, subcontractors and design teams to ensure on-time completion.

Ideal candidates will have water industry experience, strong leadership and a solid grasp of CDM 2015 and NEC contracts, with the ability to read technical drawings and manage client relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering large or multiple work packages on site.
• Water industry exposure, ideally water treatment or clean water projects.
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015, NEC contracts, H&S and quality.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and project data.
• Commercially aware with stakeholder management experience.

• Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring safe, efficient delivery to quality standards.
• Supervise site teams and supply chain partners, coordinating multiple work packages.
• Ensure compliance with RAMS, permits, briefings and site audits.
• Monitor progress, costs and programme changes with project teams.
• Liaise with client, designers, subcontractors and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Lead and develop site teams, including performance reviews and delegation.

Gearing Recruitment Solutions are working on behalf of our client, a leading contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK, to recruit an experienced Site Manager for a major AMP8 water treatment project in Egham, Surrey.

The project involves the construction of a new Rapid Gravity Treatment Plant, alongside improvements to the existing clean water treatment site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to play a key role in the delivery of a major water infrastructure scheme.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe and efficient day-to-day delivery of works on site, coordinating site teams, subcontractors and multiple work packages through to completion.

• Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
• Supervise site teams and supply chain partners, coordinating multiple work packages and monitoring progress against programme.
• Ensure compliance with H&S, CDM, quality and environmental requirements, including RAMS, permits, briefings and site audits.
• Monitor progress, costs and programme changes, working closely with project, commercial and design teams.
• Liaise with the client, designers, subcontractors and other stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain delivery.
• Identify technical issues and support value engineering and efficient delivery solutions.
• Lead, develop and support site teams, including PDRs, capability reviews and effective delegation.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in water or infrastructure construction, ideally with exposure to both civil and M&E works.

• Proven experience managing large or multiple work packages within a construction environment.
• Previous experience within the Water Industry, ideally across water treatment or clean water projects.
• Strong understanding of CDM 2015, NEC contracts, H&S and quality requirements.
• Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and project data.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Commercially aware, organised and confident working with clients, subcontractors, designers and internal teams.

Qualifications & Certifications

• HNC or higher in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• SMSTS and CSCS.
• EUSR Water Hygiene (1 & 2) and TWC.
• First Aid and Fire Marshal.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and CAD.
