Fawkes & Reece are recruiting an experienced Site Manager to join a busy newbuild residential development in Congleton. You will lead day-to-day construction activities on timber-frame homes, coordinating subcontractors and trades to programme.

The role emphasises safety, quality and delivery against targets, with a professional site team and close liaison with the Contracts Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential projects, SMSTS/CSCS/First Aid, and a proactive approach

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Job description

Fawkes & Reece are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a busy and fast-paced newbuild residential development in Congleton.

Our client is a highly respected and established house builder, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality new homes and maintaining excellent standards across their developments.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a busy timber-frame housing development, working as part of a professional and well-established site team.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day construction activities across the development, ensuring that homes are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

You will be working in a busy, fast-paced environment, coordinating subcontractors, trades and site resources while ensuring programmes and build targets are achieved.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day construction of timber-frame new build homes.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and site trades to ensure works are completed to programme.
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety across the development.
  • Ensuring works are delivered to the required quality and specification.
  • Monitoring progress against programme and identifying potential delays.
  • Managing and coordinating site labour and resources effectively.
  • Liaising closely with the Site Manager, Contracts Manager and wider project team.
  • Ensuring plots are progressing efficiently through the various stages of construction.
  • Maintaining excellent standards of housekeeping and presentation across the site.
  • Carrying out regular inspections and ensuring defects are identified and addressed promptly.
  • Ensuring all works comply with relevant building regulations, company procedures and NHBC standards.
  • Providing leadership and direction to subcontractors and site teams.
About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Proven experience working within residential new build housing.
  • Previous experience managing construction activities on a busy housing development.
  • Strong knowledge of timber-frame construction.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong understanding of health & safety and quality requirements.
  • The confidence to manage subcontractors and site trades effectively.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve issues before they impact programme.
  • A strong eye for detail and commitment to delivering high-quality homes.
  • Relevant construction qualifications, including SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.
