Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Site Manager to lead safety, quality, time and cost management on water, civils and construction projects in the UK. You will own on-site operations, guiding delivery teams and collaborating with the IOS team to deliver safe, efficient projects.

Key duties include leading SHEQ, health & safety management, multi-project oversight, and coordinating labour and supply chain to meet programme goals, within tender allowances and with a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in water, civils or construction industry.
• Full driving licence.
• Confined Spaces - Medium risk certification.
• Able to pass confined spaces medical assessment.
• Excellent organisational skills with stakeholder updates.

Responsibilities

• Lead SHEQ performance across projects with regular site visits and safety documentation.
• Manage all Health & Safety matters on site including inspections and risk assessments.
• Oversee multiple projects and support site-based supervisors and delivery teams.
• Coordinate direct labour and supply chain activities with the Resource Manager.
• Ensure delivery within tender allowances and programmes, including procurement of plant and materials.

As a Site Manager, you'll play a vital role in the safe and efficient delivery of site work across our projects. This is an opportunity to take ownership of site operations, working collaboratively with delivery teams to ensure excellent standards in safety, quality, time, and cost management. You'll be at the heart of our operations, leading by example and supporting teams to achieve outstanding results.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Site Manager, you'll be working within the IOS team, supporting them in delivering projects safely and efficiently on water and water recycling projects.

Your day to day will include:

• Leading SHEQ performance across projects, including conducting periodic visits and maintaining comprehensive safety documentation
• Managing all Health & Safety matters on site, completing inspections, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
• Overseeing multiple concurrent projects, supporting site-based supervisors and delivery teams
• Working with the Resource Manager to coordinate direct labour and supply chain activities in line with project deliverables
• Ensuring projects are delivered within tender allowances and agreed programmes, including procurement of plant, materials and specialist subcontractors

Experience within the water, civils, or construction industry

• Sound commercial and contractual awareness
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively and keep stakeholders informed
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and CDM regulations
• You hold a Full driving licence
• Confined Spaces- Medium risk certification
