Job summary

Star King Solomon Academy in central Birmingham seeks a highly organised caretaker to create, maintain and manage a safe learning environment for pupils. You will ensure facilities are clean, safe and well maintained and perform a range of caretaking and cleaning duties.

The successful candidate will hold a full clean driving licence and have experience in building maintenance and keeping work records. You will join a committed team dedicated to supporting the community and delivering high

About Star King Solomon Academy

Star King Solomon Academy is an all-through Christian faith school for 4 to 16 year olds in central Birmingham. In addition to serving Christian children and families, the school welcomes children of all faiths and beliefs. We joined Star Academies in 2024 and, like all Star schools, we have a leadership specialism.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a highly organised individual to help create, maintain and manage a safe learning environment for our young people. You will have a keen eye for detail to ensure our facilities are clean, safe and well maintained.

The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and technical skills. You will have the ability to effectively problem solve and provide excellent customer service to our community.

You will have:

• A full clean driving licence.
• Experience of carrying out specialist building maintenance work, within the reasonable capacity of a normal handyperson.
• Experience of keeping work records.
• The ability to undertake a range of caretaking and cleaning duties.
• The ability to identify work priorities and manage own workload, whilst ensuring that lower priority work is kept up to date.
