Job summary

Tauheedul Islam Boys' High School, part of Star Academies, is seeking a reliable caretaker to help create and maintain a safe learning environment for pupils. You will perform maintenance, caretaking and cleaning duties, ensuring facilities are clean, safe and well maintained, and you will manage your workload efficiently.

The role requires good organisation, attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team to support the school community in Blackburn.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out specialist building maintenance work within the reasonable capacity of a handyperson.
• Experience keeping work records and logs.
• Ability to undertake caretaking and cleaning duties.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage own workload.

About Tauheedul Islam Boys' High School

Tauheedul Islam Boys’ High School is a Muslim faith-based secondary school for 11 to 18 year old boys, which welcomes pupils from all faiths and none. We opened in Blackburn in 2012 as Star Academies’ first free school and moved to our new state-of-the-art site in 2019. Like all Star schools, we have a leadership specialism. We’re looking for a highly organised individual to help create, maintain and manage a safe learning environment for our young people. You will have a keen eye for detail to ensure our facilities are clean, safe and well maintained.

The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and technical skills. You will have the ability to effectively problem solve and provide excellent customer service to our community.

You will have:

• Experience of carrying out specialist building maintenance work, within the reasonable capacity of a normal handyperson.
• Experience of keeping work records.
• The ability to undertake a range of caretaking and cleaning duties.
• The ability to identify work priorities and manage own workload, whilst ensuring that lower priority work is kept up to date.
