Job summary

Halfords is looking for a skilled multi-site manager to lead up to 18 technicians across the Basingstoke, Portsmouth and Southampton hubs. Responsibilities

• Manage up to 18 technicians across Basingstoke, Portsmouth and Southampton hubs.
• Ensure vehicles and team members are prepared for the day and hub operations run smoothly.
• Mentor and lead the technician team, delivering high-quality, cost-effective service.
• Follow processes, ensure health and safety compliance, and represent the company positively.
• Oversee goods in, opening/closing of hubs, and scheduling across sites.

Job description

Are you a skilled manager looking for a new challenge to get stuck in to? Whether you have experience managing large teams or teams across multiple sites, we'd love to chat with you.

This multi-site management position will see you manage up to 18 skilled technicians across our Basingstoke, Portsmouth and Southampton Hubs. You will be working 44 hours per week, 5 day week, between the operating hours 6am - 8pm working every other weekend.

You will play a vital role in ensuring our vans are on the road promptly to deliver an expert service to our customers at their home address or place of work. Your skilled support to our team of Tyre Fitters and Technicians will give you the chance to use your technical ability, and at times spend time with our customers, delivering a great customer-first experience face to face.

You will ensure Hub vehicles and team members are prepared for the day ahead, taking responsibility for goods in, as well as opening and closing the Hub. Acting as a mentor and leader to the existing technician team, supporting the delivery of a high quality and cost-effective service, you will follow processes and procedures, whilst adhering to the legal framework and health and safety requirements. A positive and effective ambassador of the company, you'll be a great coach and take a keen and supportive interest in your team.

What you will

• Have experience of managing large teams (Motor Trade isn't essential)
• Be computer literate and able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing across all levels
• Be capable of identifying training needs and developing team members
• Identify opportunities to improve team performance
• Have experience of working in a customer focused environment
• Have experience conducting interviews face to face
• Have a full driving licence with no more than 6 points & held for at least 12 months
