Job summary

Ross-Shire Engineering Limited is seeking a Civil Site Manager on a permanent basis to take full responsibility for controlling on-site activities and coordinating subcontractors in line with project specifications and safety standards. Accommodation on-site will be provided by RSE.

The role requires supervisory experience, a Civil Engineering qualification, and appropriate site certifications. You will report to the Project Manager and manage resources, schedules, and documentation to support

Qualifications

• Degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Experience in water sector or similar industrial sectors is advantageous.
• Demonstrable supervisory experience on site required.
• SMSTS, First Aid at Work and CSCS certifications are expected.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, direct, and allocate work to Trade Operatives.
• Ensure all site activities comply with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
• Keep documentation up to date and accessible for inspection.
• Plan and organise works to be carried out safely and efficiently.
• Carry out competence assessments according to the timetable set by the Company.
• Discuss work-related matters with trades operatives and contractors.
• Liaise with other departments and contractors on site daily.
• Update the Project Manager on progress and future resource needs.

What Are We Looking For?

Our Asset Management team is looking for a Civil Site Manager to join us on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for controlling and managing all RSE activities on site. Including sub-contractor activities and ensuring all works are performed in accordance with the specifications and relevant safety standards.

Please note this position will require flexibility on working location, with accommodation provided by RSE.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:

• Instructing, directing, controlling, and allocating work to Trade Operatives.
• Ensuring that all activities undertaken on site comply with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management requirements.
• Ensuring that all required documentation is kept up to date, always filed correctly and available for inspection.
• Ensuring that work is planned and organised so that it can be carried out safely and efficiently.
• Carrying out competence assessments, adhering to the specified timetable as set out by the Company.
• Discussing matters related to work with trades operatives and contractors.
• Liaising with other departmental sections and trades.
• Liaising on a day-to-day basis with other contractors engaged on site.
• Updating the Project Manager with contract progress and future resource requirements.

What Do You Need?

• Experience within the water sector would be highly advantageous, however other industrial sectors will be considered.
• Degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in Ducting, Foundations and Earthworks/Groundworks.
• Demonstrable experience at a supervisory level.
• SMSTS
• First Aid at Work
• CSCS
• Awareness of all Health & Safety practices.
• Ability to managing changing priorities on site.
• Full UK Driving Licence
