Job description

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our Places Developments team and take responsibility for the successful day-to-day delivery of one of our new-build developments.

You will oversee and coordinate all production activity on site, ensuring that homes are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the quality standards our customers expect. From managing subcontractors and monitoring build programmes to maintaining site records and driving a positive health and safety culture, you will play a key role throughout the development.

Working closely with our Build, Sales, Technical and Commercial teams, you will make sure activity is coordinated effectively and that accurate, up-to-date information is maintained. You will also represent Places Developments professionally with customers, contractors, suppliers and the wider community, demonstrating our People First approach at every opportunity.

More About You

You will be an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in delivering fast-paced, new-build housing developments from initial construction through to completion.

Safety, quality and customer satisfaction will be central to the way you work. You will be confident leading site teams, setting clear expectations and holding contractors accountable for their performance. You will also be highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing competing priorities within a busy construction environment.

Essential Criteria
  • Previous Site Manager experience on multiple fast-paced, new-build developments from conception through to completion
  • A full, clean UK driving licence
  • Black CSCS card
  • A current SMSTS qualification
  • A good understanding of traditional, modular and timber-frame construction methods
  • Strong knowledge of site health, safety and environmental requirements
  • Experience managing subcontractors and monitoring delivery against agreed programmes
  • The ability to maintain high standards of workmanship throughout every stage of the build
  • The confidence to lead and record weekly contractor and site-team meetings
  • Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams

Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor training would be advantageous, although we will also consider candidates who have a good understanding of temporary works and are willing to undertake further training. Experience using COINS and Asta Powerproject would also be beneficial.
