Job summary

Portswood Primary School is seeking a dedicated Site Lead to maintain our school site, ensuring it remains safe, secure and well-presented for pupils, staff and visitors. You will work with the Estates team to cover site maintenance, health and safety checks, and contractor coordination.

The role involves supporting day-to-day operations, managing a varied workload, and providing reliable, independent work across a dynamic school environment. Opportunities to support other Trust sites may arise.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance and repairs.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Able to manage a varied workload and work independently.
• Communicates well with staff, contractors and visitors.
• Reliable, flexible and maintains high standards.
• Confident using basic IT systems and keeping accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds to a high standard.
• Carry out routine compliance and safety checks.
• Manage contractor access and day-to-day operational needs.
• Support school events and day-to-day activities.
• Occasional support at other Trust schools to share expertise.
