Job summary

Metlen Energy & Metals is seeking a Site HSE Supervisor to join the EGL1 Project team, based in Torness, Scotland, UK. You will implement HSE requirements and ensure compliance with project, client and statutory obligations.

You will review construction activities, risk assessments and methodologies, prepare, maintain and update site HSE documentation, and lead safety initiatives across the site while monitoring subcontractor compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction HSE experience on major sites.
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate.
• Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., IOSH) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM 2015 regulations.

Responsibilities

• Implement HSE requirements and ensure compliance with project, client, and statutory obligations.
• Review construction activities, work methodologies, and risk assessments to identify and address health and safety risks.
• Prepare, maintain, and update site HSE documentation and records.
• Support emergency response plans, traffic management, and fire safety procedures.
• Lead HSE initiatives across the site and monitor subcontractor compliance.
• Coordinate site inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions with reports and recommendations.
• Promote a positive safety culture and adherence to policies and industry best practices.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives.
