Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced General Foreman to join a leading infrastructure and civil engineering contractor on a major water project near Winchester. You will oversee on-site delivery of civil works and manage the daily site activities.

The role requires prior UK water sector experience, CSCS/Schedule Card, and the ability to coordinate crews, plant and materials while maintaining safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a General Foreman or Site Supervisor in UK water projects
• Strong civil engineering/construction background
• CSCS/SSTS/SSSTS or related supervisor certification

General Foreman - Water

Location: Winchester area
Rate: £400 per day, Inside IR35, depending on experience
Duration: 12 months+ / ongoing

The Role

A leading infrastructure and engineering contractor is looking for an experienced General Foreman to join its construction team on a key water project near Winchester.
This is a long-term opportunity supporting the day-to-day delivery of civil engineering and construction activities on site.

Due to the nature of the project, candidates must have previous experience working as a General Foreman or Site Supervisor within the UK water sector. Experience with either a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor will be considered, provided you have worked on projects associated with UK Water Authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• General management of construction and civil engineering activities
• Daily allocation of plant, labour and materials
• Coordination of site activities and subcontractors
• Managing the site workforce to ensure safe working practices
• Ensuring works are delivered with minimal environmental impact
• Ensuring deliveries are stored safely to protect staff, the public and site equipment
• Ensuring appropriate PPE is available and correctly used
• Assisting with the production and review of method statements
• Supporting site health, safety, quality and compliance requirements

Requirements
