Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd in Batley is seeking a skilled Site Fitter & Fabricator to work on architectural steel projects, including stairs and balustrades.

The role requires at least 2 years’ fabrication/welding experience, knowledge of the construction steel industry, a clean driving licence, and valid CSCS/PASMA/IPAF qualifications.

Hours: 39 per week, Mon-Thu 7:30-16:30, Fri 7:30-14:00. Pay is £17-£18 per hour, with potential overnight stay allowance if required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in fabrication/welding.
• Knowledge of the construction steel industry.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and fit secondary steelwork and architectural metalwork.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Meet project deadlines under Site Manager.

Site Fitter and Fabricator

We are recruiting for a Skilled Site Fitter & Fabricator to work for our client who are located in Batley, West Yorkshire.

Job Summary

To ensure onsite works are carried out efficiently and effectively to meet the client’s requirements. With a practical knowledge and experience of Mild & Stainless Steel Fabrication particularly in architectural staircases and balustrade.

THE DUTIES OF A SITE FITTER

• Experience & knowledge in fabricating as well as fitting secondary steelwork & architectural metalwork. (Stairs, balustrading, handrails & glass panels)
• Maintain high standards throughout the project to ensure a quality finish.
• Carry out work in accordance to site pack instructions & information, including; Rams, Drawings, Parts List, Bolt List & hired equipment. Make relevant checks of all information.
• Work to set targets and deadlines given by Site Manager to ensure project is completed on time.
• Complete any paperwork from the van file on a weekly/monthly basis or as necessary reporting any issues.
• Working to the highest standards of Health and Safety
• Wear the correct PPE at all times as per RAMS
• Reporting and filing of accidents
• Reporting machine and equipment failures
• Read and understand engineering drawings
• Installation of general fabrications

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS

• Minimum 2 years' experience working within a Fabrication/Welding role
• Knowledge of the Construction Steel Industry
• Excellent communication skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
• CSCS /PASMA/IPAF is a must

THE HOURS

39 hours a week
Monday-Thursday 7.30am -4.30pm / Friday 7.30am-2pm

THE PAY

You will earn an hourly rate depending on experience of £17/£18

There will be an additional over night stay allowance provided if required
