We are looking for a full-time experienced Site Fitter to join our expanding team. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role involving the assembly, fitting and installation of structural, mechanical and fabricated components on client sites. Working from engineering drawings, specifications and project requirements, you will help ensure our installations are completed safely, accurately and to a high standard.
The role will involve measuring, cutting, aligning and fitting components, carrying out on‑site modifications where required and working closely with Site Managers, Site Supervisors and other trades to keep projects progressing efficiently.
As our work takes place across a range of construction and industrial environments, the successful candidate must have a strong approach to health and safety and be comfortable working in changing site conditions. The role may involve working at height, in confined spaces and around plant and machinery, as well as travel between sites.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has strong practical and problem‑solving skills and can work effectively both independently and as part of a wider site team. You will also represent Shields when working at client premises, so a professional and respectful approach is essential.
The role requires training/competency in Working at Height, COSHH Awareness, Abrasive Wheels, Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness, Risk Assessment Awareness and Electrical Safety. Appropriate training will be provided where applicable.
