Job summary

Shields Ltd in Driffield, East Yorkshire, is seeking a full-time Site Fitter to join our hands-on team. You will assemble, fit and install structural and mechanical components on client sites, working from drawings and project requirements to ensure safe, accurate installations.

You'll measure, cut, align and modify onsite, coordinating with Site Managers and other trades. A valid UK driving licence and experience on construction sites are essential, with a strong commitment to health and safety

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Proven experience as Site Fitter or similar construction/installation role.
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Hands‑on experience installing, assembling and fitting components.
• Experience on construction or industrial sites.
• Competent with hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Good communication, teamwork and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good understanding of site health & safety regulations and safe systems of work.
• Experience working to project deadlines and programmes.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fit and install structural/mechanical components on client sites.
• Read engineering drawings and project specs to ensure accuracy.
• Measure, cut, align and fit components; perform site modifications.
• Collaborate with Site Managers, Supervisors and other trades.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
• Travel between sites as needed.
