Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Huddersfield, UK, is seeking a Site Facilities Placement Student for a 12-month placement starting Summer 2027. The role is on-site, with Monday–Friday hours, and requires relocation/travel to Huddersfield.

You will gain exposure to how a global organization operates and contribute to facilities maintenance and project work. Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in construction, mechanical, electrical, or business fields, and have strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Studying for a degree in construction, mechanical, electrical or business-related discipline.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
• IOSH or equivalent HSE qualifications are an advantage.
• Strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support and supervise reactive and planned maintenance within the Facilities department.
• Support and supervise contracted teams carrying out works linked to reactive and planned maintenance within the Facilities department.
• Act as the main point of contact for planned and reactive maintenance activities and ensure documentation of maintenance activities in our filing system to satisfy compliance.
• Audit works to ensure high standards are maintained.
• Ensure communication with contracted teams throughout their work, also notifying them of any changes within the Cummins environment.
• Carry out project work as requested by Facilities manager and involvement as a team member for larger scale project works across the Huddersfield site.
