Job summary

Cummins in Huddersfield is offering a Site Facilities Placement Student role, on-site Monday to Friday, commencing Summer 2027. You will learn how a major global organization operates and gain exposure to facilities operations.

The successful candidate will be studying for a degree in construction, mechanical, electrical or business disciplines, with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and will travel or relocate as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be studying for a degree in either construction, mechanical, electrical or business-related discipline.
Experience of Microsoft packages are essential, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
IOSH or equivalent HSE qualifications are an advantage.
Strong communications skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Support and supervise reactive and planned maintenance within the Facilities department.
Support and supervise contracted teams carrying out works linked to reactive and planned maintenance within the Facilities department.
Act as the main point of contact for planned and reactive maintenance activities and ensure documentation of maintenance activities in our filing system to satisfy compliance.
Audit works to ensure high standards are maintained.
Ensure communication with contracted teams throughout their work, also notifying them of any changes within the Cummins environment.
Carry out project work as requested by Facilities manager and involvement as a team member for larger scale project works across the Huddersfield site.
