Job summary

Omega Resource Group in Bedfordshire is seeking a Site Engineering Manager to lead senior engineering teams on a 24/7 FMCG manufacturing site. You will drive reliability, maintenance, capital projects and set the engineering strategy to deliver world-class performance.

The role demands change leadership, a track record with WCM/TPM/Lean, and the ability to manage multi-million-pound budgets while developing people.

Qualifications

• Experience leading major cultural change and lean initiatives.
• Proven track record in frontline maintenance and project teams.
• Background in FMCG manufacturing environment.
• HNC/HND within engineering discipline minimum.
• Senior leadership with 24/7 site experience.

Responsibilities

• Maximise engineering resources and skill set; 4 direct reports and up to 25 indirect.
• Develop autonomous maintenance programmes and subject-matter expert in maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement and organisational change across the site.
• Create, implement and manage the engineering maintenance strategy.
• Monitor operational efficiency of plant and equipment, implementing improvement plans.
• Develop engineering skills through structured people development programmes.

You are a senior engineering leader, a leader of people and teams, setting the pace and strategy on a complex FMCG manufacturing site

This challenge will offer YOU a genuine opportunity to lead engineering change, reliability, maintenance, projects on-site site, factory, and maintenance activities to progress YOUR career within a growing, Global, progressive manufacturing business.

You will be responsible for engineering, capital investment and maintenance activities and overseeing the development and implementation of engineering initiatives to improve all elements of OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) and people development.

Leading the engineering technical change agenda for the Site, including all the maintenance activities to improve line performance, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles – TPM. Change management, leadership and stakeholder engagement are the key challenges.

Drive engineering performance improvements, lead projects, manage multi-million-pound budgets and lead your teams to strive for world-class engineering & Maintenance excellence.

Responsible for setting the engineering strategy, leading engineering activities, maximising production through maintenance of site assets

Key Responsibilities – Site Engineering Manager

• Ensure engineering resources (people/headcount) and technical skill set is maximised. 4 direct reports up to 25 indirect
• Develop autonomous maintenance programmes – subject matter expert in maintenance
• Continuous improvement and reengineering in everything you do – support and lead organisational change
• You will create, implement, and manage the engineering maintenance strategy
• Monitor operational efficiency of all plant and equipment, identifying areas of under-performance or opportunity and implementing plans to deliver improvement
• and implement an engineering maintenance strategy
• Develop engineering skills through a structured people development programmes

Qualifications and Requirements – Site Engineering Manager

• Experience in delivering major cultural and leadership – change-oriented and flexible lean-orientated approach
• Experience in leading technical frontline maintenance, services and project teams
• Track record of using advanced manufacturing techniques (E.g. WCM/TPM/Lean)
• HNC/HND within an engineering discipline minimum
• Background in engineering management within a time-sensitive, 24/7 complex manufacturing environment, ideally FMCG
• A confident leader, decision maker, and influencer
• You will set the standard, vision, pace, and strategy on a large complex site
• Engineering leadership at a senior level in a manufacturing environment – open on industry, as long as its manufacturing or automated complex consumer supply chain
