Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Site Engineer for a major infrastructure programme in the West Midlands. The permanent role offers a salary of £48,000 to £52,000 with a company car and benefits. The position is primarily site based, with potential travel allowances per policy.

Key duties include setting out works, surveying, QA documentation, RAMS/ITPs, coordinating subcontractors, and supporting the Site Agent and Project Manager to deliver on time and to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or major infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Leica or Trimble surveying equipment.
• Good understanding of QA processes, as‑built records and engineering documentation.
• Experience delivering highways, rail, structures, earthworks or heavy civils projects.
• CSCS card as a minimum (SMSTS/SSSTS desirable).
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set out and survey works in accordance with project requirements.
• Produce and review as‑built surveys and quality documentation.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and site documentation.
• Prepare and review RAMS, ITPs and inspection records.
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely and to programme.
• Support the Site Agent and Project Manager with day‑to‑day delivery of the project.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
