Job summary

AUREOS INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES LIMITED is seeking a Highways Site Engineer to oversee and manage highway improvement projects in the Liverpool area, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

The role requires an HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, 3+ years in highways, strong surveying skills, and excellent communication and leadership abilities. CSCS card is required; SMSTS/SSSTS desirable. Equal opportunities employer.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
• 3+ years proven experience as a Site Engineer in highways/road projects.
• Strong understanding of construction standards, regs and health and safety legislation.
• Proficiency in setting out techniques and surveying equipment (total stations, GPS).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise all on-site highway construction activities including earthworks, drainage, pavement construction, and related civil works.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, drawings, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain site records, diaries, progress reports and safety records.
• Assist in method statements, risk assessments and work permits.
• Set out and survey works with accurate alignment and levels.
• Enforce health and safety policies on site.
• Identify and resolve technical problems and site-related issues efficiently.
• Monitor project costs and assist with budget control.

• Valid UK driving license.
• CSCS card (or equivalent) is required.
• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification is highly desirable.
