Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Site Engineer for our Rolls-Royce project in Derby, delivering major infrastructure with a focus on safety, quality and schedule. You will provide on-site engineering support across the project, ensuring works are delivered accurately and in line with programme requirements.

You will set out, survey, review drawings and manage QA, working with subcontractors and project managers to resolve technical issues and keep production moving.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Engineer on civil/infrastructure projects.
• Degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience with setting out equipment such as Leica or Trimble.
• Strong reading of drawings, specifications and construction methods.
• Knowledge of QA procedures and health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively while managing own workload.
• CSCS card required; SMSTS/SSSTS desirable.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying works using modern engineering equipment.
• Ensuring construction activities follow drawings, specs and quality standards.
• Producing and reviewing engineering documentation (inspection/test plans, permits, work packs).
• Managing QA processes and maintaining accurate site records.
• Supporting planning and coordination of daily construction activities.
• Monitoring progress and identifying opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Working closely with subcontractors, supervisors and project managers to resolve technical issues.
