Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Site Engineer to join our Thames Water WAAP Programme team in the Thames Valley area. You will set out and determine locations for infrastructure installations, apply designs to mark out sites, and support site safety and quality on busy projects.

You will work with the Design & Build team, using CAD, GIS and BIM tools to develop practical solutions for our clients. A strong civil engineering background and site experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence and White CSCS Card.
• Experience in civil engineering or construction with a background in the Waste Water sector.
• Experience with Heavy Civils projects, including large scale FRC setting out.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with construction managers, quantity surveyors, architects and other professionals.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and knowledge of health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Setting out, levelling and surveying construction sites using GPS, Total Station and laser level equipment.
• Acting as the main technical adviser on site for subcontractors, craftspeople and operatives.
• Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy and ensuring materials and work meet specifications.
• Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, planners and project team to meet deadlines.
• Overseeing quality control, health and safety matters, and resolving technical difficulties as they arise.
