Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Section Engineer for the Thames Water WAAP Programme, based in Reading / Oxford (Thames Valley Central). You will support multiple projects, setting out locations and supervising resources in a fast-paced design & build team.

The role requires a driving licence, Degree/HND or equivalent, CSCS and SMSTS, plus strong communication, organisation and safety focus. This is a collaborative opportunity within a major water infrastructure programme.

Qualifications

Full driving licence, Degree/HND or equivalent, CSCS Card and SMSTS Card.
Experience in civil engineering or construction, water sector preferred.
Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Act as the main technical adviser on construction sites for subcontractors, craftspeople and operatives.
Managing and establishing survey controls, setting gridlines, conducting levelling and other land surveying activities.
Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy and ensuring all materials and work are in accordance with specifications.
Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners and the workforce to keep projects moving smoothly.
Overseeing quality control, health and safety matters, and resolving any unexpected technical difficulties.
