Job summary

Caval Limited is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our established civil engineering contractor with a diverse portfolio across Yorkshire and occasional work into North Lincolnshire and Humberside. The role centers on setting out, surveying and delivering earthworks and drainage on highway and rail-related projects.

You will work closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager, maintaining site records, interpreting drawings and coordinating with subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer in civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Strong setting-out and surveying experience.
• Good knowledge of general civils, earthworks and drainage.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying civil engineering works.
• Supporting earthworks, drainage and general civils packages.
• Checking levels, dimensions and tolerances against drawings and specifications.
• Maintaining accurate site records and quality documentation.
• Assisting with measurements, quantities and progress reporting.
• Working closely with subcontractors and site teams.
• Identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
• Supporting inspections, testing and handover documentation.
• Liaising with designers, clients and other project stakeholders.
• Supporting health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Assisting the Site Manager and Project Manager with technical matters.
