Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Site Engineer for the East West Rail project based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. You will support the Section Engineer, set out works, and maintain as-built records while ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Responsibilities include overseeing soil/rock testing, utilities clearance, and liaising with clients and stakeholders. A Construction-related degree or HNC with a CSCS card is required, plus surveying experience and a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

  • Hold or are working towards a Construction-related Degree or HNC, supported by a valid CSCS card.
  • Have experience setting out using a range of surveying equipment and hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Bring knowledge of CAD software and ground investigation works within a construction or infrastructure environment.
  • Take pride in maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality and technical compliance on site.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively, building strong relationships with project teams, clients and key stakeholders.

  • Undertaking utilities clearance and ensuring safe identification and exposure of underground utilities through trial trenching.
  • Managing quality assurance records, inspection requests, and building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

We're looking for a Site Engineer to join our East West Rail team based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

Location:

St Neots, Cambridgeshire

Hours:

Permanent Fulltime 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

What will you be responsible for?

As a Site Engineer, you'll be working within the East West Rail team, supporting them in delivering technical compliance and engineering excellence across trial trenching and geotechnical investigations.

Your Day To Day Will Include
  • Supporting the Section Engineer in managing engineering resources to ensure works are delivered safely on time and to specification
