Job description

We're looking for a Site Engineer to join our KierBam JV project at Devonport Dockyard based in Plymouth, Devon.

KierBAM is a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall, currently delivering a redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site.

Location:

Site Based, Plymouth, Devon

Hours:

Permanent, 45 hours per week

Responsibilities

As a Site Engineer, you'll work within the Nuclear team, supporting the delivery of the redevelopment project at the Dockyard. Your daily tasks will include:

1. Assisting in recording and testing workmanship and materials (e.g., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork).
2. Providing engineering support to resolve technical problems and answer queries.
3. Setting out works within allowable tolerances.
4. Checking setting out points, benchmarks, and calibration of measuring equipment.
5. Maintaining setting out and dimensional control for accurate construction.

What we're looking for in a Site Engineer

This role is ideal if you have:

• A degree in civil engineering or equivalent (e.g., BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech) or completion of Higher Apprenticeship.
• Experience with Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical & digital levels).
• Experience in a similar role.

Security Clearance

Due to the site's location on a high-security military naval base, BPSS security clearance is required, which can take up to 8 weeks. Only candidates with EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports and UK residency for the last 5 years will be considered.
