Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security Systems Engineer to join our site-based engineering team at a high-security site in Plymouth. The position is permanent, full-time, working 40 hours per week, with additional call-out/standby responsibilities. Flexibility to meet the site's shift patterns is expected.
The project involves working with enterprise electronic security systems, suitable for experienced candidates or those with a background in electronic security or IT systems (networks and servers) eager to learn.
What will you be doing
- Attend to reactive fault calls, with first-visit rectification as a key KPI.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Carry out installation and commissioning works as directed.
- Collaborate with site Project and Site Managers to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Assist Tech Support Engineers and Project Managers in pre-production testing.
- Support the Design Team with site surveys for additional work.
- Manage subcontractors and oversee reactive and PPM works on third-party equipment.
- Accurately record site hardware and software configurations.
What we are looking for
- At least 5 years of experience installing or servicing electronic security systems (Access Control, CCTV, Intruder alarms).
- Broad IT knowledge, including software installation, IP-based systems, and networking principles.
- Basic electrical knowledge, such as measuring voltage, resistance, and current.
- Understanding of electrical components like relays and resistors.
- Attention to detail to ensure proper documentation and procedures.
- Willingness to work irregular hours and be on a 24/7 call rota.
- 5-year checkable employment history and unrestricted right to work in UK/EU.
