Job summary

Empower Advisory UK, part of the BMD Group, seeks a Consultant Site Engineer for a full-time site-based role in Plymouth. You will assist the Engineering team to ensure design-compliant, safe, on-time, and quality-focused project delivery.

Responsibilities include coordinating stakeholders, solving technical queries, setting out works, preparing as-built drawings, and maintaining safety and quality records. BPSS clearance and CSCS/SMSTS are required.

Qualifications

• Degree level/HNC/HND qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Site experience including setting out and reinforced concrete works.
• Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practice.

Responsibilities

• Regularly communicate and report to stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Assist Engineering team in providing technical support and resolving queries.
• Set out works within allowable tolerances on site.
• Assist in preparing as-built drawings and recording workmanship and materials.
• Maintain safety and quality documentation and registers.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications and project timelines.

Job Summary and role description:

This is a full-time site-based role for a Consultant Site Engineer based in Plymouth. The Consultant will assist the Engineering team in managing the technical compliance of the project to the design specification in order to fulfil the assigned project safely, on time and to the required quality.

Daily tasks include:

• Regular communication and reporting to multiple stakeholders to ensure the seamless execution of projects, including coordination of subcontractors.
• Assist in providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
• Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances.
• Assist in the preparation of ‘as-built drawings’ and recording and testing of workmanship and materials.
• Assist in maintaining registers and ensuring safety and quality documentation.
• Degree level/HNC/HND qualification in a Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• site experience, including setting out and reinforced concrete
• Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practice.
• Due to the nature of the work and location, a BPSS level of security clearance is necessary. Only candidates holding EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG member passports can be considered for this role.
