Job summary

Tilbury Douglas is seeking a Site Engineer to lead the engineering and technical elements on Yorkshire region construction projects. You will ensure works meet contract specifications, uphold on-site health, safety and environmental standards, and drive a culture of excellence.

The role requires a Degree in construction and main contractor experience, with opportunities for line management and ongoing development for junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in construction subject.
  • Graduate + 2 years minimum main contractor site experience.
  • SMSTS qualification required.
  • CSCS Card required.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure site works comply with contract specifications and drawings and maintain records.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with the customer and their representatives/advisors.
  • Implement Tilbury Douglas policies on sustainability, health and safety, quality and environment; model company values.
  • Implement the company’s Business Management System.
  • Implement Asite as the project CDE and Integrated Management System.
  • Be proactive in identifying and solving problems.
  • Line management responsibilities including annual appraisal and development for junior staff.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a skilled

Location: Yorkshire Region
  • Ensuring that the project works comply with the requirements of the contract specification and drawings etc. and maintaining appropriate records to confirm such compliance
  • Maintaining excellent and effective working relationships with the customer and their representatives/advisors
  • Implementing Tilbury Douglas Construction's Strategy and Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc. and acting as an exemplar of the Company culture and values
  • Implementing the Companies Business Management System
  • Implement the Asite as the project CDE and Integrated Management System
  • Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems
  • Line management responsibilities, including the undertaking of annual appraisal and development for junior members of staff

What You Will Be Doing

  • Supporting initiatives to deliver ongoing continuous improvement
  • Line management responsibilities, including the undertaking of annual appraisal and development for junior members of staff
What We Will Need From You
  • Appropriate technical knowledge and main contractor construction experience
  • Degree (or similar equivalent) in a relevant construction subject
  • Experience (Graduate + 2 years min) in a similar role as a Site Engineer working for a main contractor
  • SMSTS qualification
  • Appropriate CSCS Card
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to use own initiative and apply logical and critical thinking
  • Robust analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and manage time
