Job summary

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting a Site Engineer on behalf of a long-standing civil engineering main contractor to help deliver schemes across the North East.

The role covers Northumbrian Water AMP8/9 schemes over the next 15 years. A permanent position offers up to £50,000 DOE and a generous package. You will take responsibility for setting out, safety, and collaborative work with foremen and gangers.

Qualifications

• Must have proven experience as Site Engineer on civil projects (£5m+).
• Must have knowledge of water, treatment plants, concrete, foundations and RC framework.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high safety and environmental standards on site.
• Supervise assistant engineers and coordinate with foremen.
• Ensure drawings and specs are complete and accurate for construction.
• Provide clear setting out and measurements for works.
• Prepare 4-weekly programmes and maintain daily site diaries.
• Maintain material reconciliation and ensure proper ticketing for cost coding.
• Assist testing/sampling of materials and support measurement team.

Duties as Senior Site Engineer:

• Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards.
• Supervision of assistant engineers.
• Ensure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works.
• Provide accurate and clear setting out for works.
• Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure full understanding of information provided.
• Arrange formal checking of setting out.
• Complete inspection and test plans.
• Keep accurate daily site diary.
• Preparation of 4 weekly programmes.
• Provide accurate measurements for materials required.
• Maintain material reconciliation figures for reporting.
• Ensure that material delivery tickets are passed on for cost coding.
• Carry out testing / sampling of materials.
• Provide assistance to the measurement department.
• Maintain survey books.
• Take receipt of materials and perform checks.

Experience Required as Site Engineer:

• Must have proven experience working as Site Engineer on civil engineering projects (£5m+).
• Must have full knowledge with: Water, Treatment Plants, Concrete, Foundations and RC Framework
• Must have: SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid.

Remuneration:

On offer is a salary of up to £50,000 (DOE) plus generous package
