Elvet Recruitment are seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to oversee civil works on multi-million pound water infrastructure projects across South Yorkshire. You will lead and mentor Site Engineers, coordinate temporary works, review RAMS and site documentation, and help drive safe, compliant delivery on schemes valued from £1m to £20m.

The role covers several projects in Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham within the Yorkshire Water AMP8 framework, with progression toward contract

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience as Senior Site Engineer / Section Engineer / Sub Agent on heavy civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of drainage gradients, rebar, shuttering/formwork and temporary works.
• Ability to supervise direct workforce on site.
• Experience delivering works for water sector clients is beneficial.
• Must hold CSCS and full UK driving licence.
• Ideally hold a relevant degree/hnd; SSSTS or lifting ops qualifications are a bonus.

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Senior Site Engineer on behalf of a reputable civil engineering contractor to work on multi-million £ water infrastructure projects across South Yorkshire.

This role is based across several projects across the South Yorkshire region - Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham etc. Projects are all part of the Yorkshire Water AMP8 framework - running beyond 2030. Projects will revolve around storm tank installs and water treatment work upgrades. With varied & interesting civils scopes including - shaft sinking, auger boring, pumping stations, in-situ concrete structures, deep drainage and more. Each project varying from £1m to £20m in value.

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for overseeing engineering works by providing guidance to Site Engineers and working with Project Managers to ensure smooth running of projects.

This role will lead into more Project / Contracts Management as this person progresses, eventually overseeing 2-3 schemes alongside senior management.

Duties

• Reviewing and amending RAMS, permits and site documentation
• Coordinate Temporary Works on site
• Updating site paperwork
• Produce lift plans and be a point of contact for lifting ops on sites
• Provide guidance & support to Site Engineers
• Provide assistance to Site Agents
• Supporting planning, sequencing and safe systems of work
• Monitoring progress, quality and compliance on site

Experience Required

• Proven experience as Senior Site Engineer / Section Engineer / Sub Agent on relevant heavy civil engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of drainage gradients, rebar, shuttering / formwork and temporary works
• Ability to support site management in supervision of direct workforce
• Experience delivering works for water sector clients (Yorkshire Water or similar) beneficial
• Must hold CSCS and full UK driving licence
• Ideally hold an industry‑relevant Degree/HND
• Ideally hold SSSTS, Temp Works Supervisor, Appointed Person / Lifting Ops, Confined Spaces etc.

Remuneration

Salary up to £65,000 (DOE) plus:

• Company car or allowance, fuel, annual leave, pension scheme and more.
