Job summary

Randstad CPE partners with a leading international infrastructure group to recruit a Site Engineer for a major civil project in Argyll. The role is on-site with a long-term contract and a daily rate up to £500 umbrella inside IR35.

You will support the senior project team, manage materials, plant and labor within budget, ensure the engineering is fit for purpose from conception to maintenance, and mentor the project team to drive performance.

Qualifications

• A UK civils engineering background.
• Previous engineering experience and subject matter expert in the discipline of engineering.
• A valid CSCS card is required.
• An SSSTS certification and a Driving license.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with partners and delivery team members under time pressure.
• A degree in a relevant engineering discipline and a relevant professional qualification, such as MICE or MIStructE, or having an ONC/HNC is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the senior project team in the overall implementation of the engineering strategy and framework for the designated project.
• Managing materials, plant and labour within the allocated budget and resources, ensuring their safe, effective and efficient delivery of service on the project.
• Ensuring that the engineering is efficiently managed so that it is fit for purpose from conception right through installation and maintenance.
• Providing coaching and motivation to the project team, to deliver high performance on the project and create a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensuring all systems, design information, procedures and quality systems are effectively communicated.
• Supporting the project delivery teams, verifying the work of others, providing technical support.

Contract Duration: 21/09/2026 to 19/09/2027.

Working Hours: 9 hours per day, 45 hours per week.

Rate: Up to £500 per day Umbrella inside IR35.

About the Role:
