Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Site Engineer to join our growing civil engineering and rail infrastructure team in Scotland. You will work on a diverse portfolio of high-profile infrastructure projects across Scotland, delivering safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.

You will set out and survey works, maintain accurate site records, support the Site Agent and Project Manager with programme delivery, and coordinate subcontractors to ensure quality across on-site activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Site Engineer in civil or rail projects.
  • Strong setting-out using Leica or Trimble equipment.
  • Knowledge of QA processes and engineering documentation.
  • Excellent communication and site relationships.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are working with a well-established and highly respected civil engineering and infrastructure contractor to assist them in hiring a Site Engineer for their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of rail and civil engineering projects across Scotland. Working on a variety of infrastructure schemes, you will play a key role in delivering projects safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards, while developing your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

As the Site Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Setting out and surveying works in accordance with project specifications and design drawings.
  • Ensuring all engineering activities are delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Maintaining accurate site records, quality documentation, and as-built information.
  • Supporting the Site Agent and Project Manager with programme delivery and technical queries.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards.
  • Assisting with temporary works, permits, inspections, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering or rail infrastructure projects.
  • Strong setting out skills using Leica, Trimble, or similar surveying equipment.
  • A sound understanding of quality assurance processes, engineering documentation, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships on site.
  • A relevant Civil Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, or Degree), with CSCS certification. Experience working within a rail environment and holding PTS certification would be advantageous but is not essential.
