Job summary

EKFB, delivering HS2 civil works in the Banbury area, is recruiting a Site Engineer based in Greatworth. You will supervise on-site M&E activities, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure delivery to programme and budget.

Working with a setting-out team, you will allocate labour, plant and materials, assist in producing programmes and progress reports, and support financial forecasting. A CSCS card and relevant construction experience are essential.

Qualifications

• HNC/Degree (Construction/ME) or equivalent.
• Must hold CSCS credential specified.
• Experience in highways or structures preferred.
• Knowledge of site engineering and construction supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support junior engineers on site and coordinate M&E activities.

• Lead setting-out team and supervise M&E subcontractors.

About The Role

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.

We're looking to recruit a Site Engineer to join our team based in Greatworth.

The Site Engineer is responsible on site for other junior engineers and assists in the construction operations in the Banbury area. You will be required to liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials to carry out M&E works activities to the required standards, programme and budget.

You will be responsible for working with the setting out team and be responsible for the performance and development of M&E Sub-Contractors and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub-Agent. Specification and coordination of varied contractors and time frame to ensure smooth delivery in a 'just in time' fashion.

Ensuring that the team have all current information and resources required to carry out their duties, you will be required to assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans and contribute to financial forecasting.

Requirements

• HNC/Degree (Construction/M&E related) or equivalent
• You must hold a CSCS – White, White-Yellow, Red – Experienced, Black – Manager or Gold – Supervisor
• Previous structures experience is preferred
• Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills
• Experience in highways or structures is essential for this role
• You must hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle

Additional Requirements

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance will be required (to be undertaken as part of onboarding process).
