Job summary

Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a Tier 1 main contractor delivering major works on the HS2 project in the Northamptonshire region. The role focuses on paperwork and supervision, supporting the delivery of complex reinforced concrete structures.

You will work closely with Section Engineers and Agents, taking ownership of QA documentation, drawings review, and ITPs, while liaising with subcontractors to resolve queries and ensure works meet specification.

Qualifications

• Experience as Site Engineer on RC structures (frames, bridges, retaining walls).
• Strong knowledge of QA processes and paperwork management.
• Able to read drawings and maintain technical documentation.
• Experience with Tier 1 main contractors on major infrastructure projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with QA documentation and maintaining accurate site records.

• Prepare and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Collate as-built surveys and handover documentation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Site Engineer with structures experience who is looking for a paperwork and supervision-focused role, supporting the delivery of complex reinforced concrete structures on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects.

The Role

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer working on structures (RC frames, bridges, retaining walls, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of QA processes and paperwork management
• Proficiency in reading drawings and maintaining technical documentation
• Experience working with Tier 1 main contractors on major infrastructure projects preferred
• Valid CSCS card and right to work in the UK
