Job summary

Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major Tier 1 highways project in East London. This role focuses on setting out, QA, and maintaining precise site records to ensure works meet the highest standards.

You will review drawings, manage permits and inspections, and support progress reporting and programme management on a high-profile infrastructure scheme.

Qualifications

• A civil engineering degree or equivalent (HNC/HND) is required.
• CSCS card is essential.
• Experience with highways or major civil projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set out highways and civil works to drawings.
• Maintain accurate site records and as-built information.
• Manage QA processes, ITPs and inspections.
• Review drawings for design issues and resolve them.

Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major Tier 1 highways project in East London. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile infrastructure scheme, supporting the successful delivery of highways and associated civil engineering works.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out for highways and civil engineering works
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built information
• Managing quality assurance processes, ITPs, and inspections
• Reviewing drawings and identifying any design issues
• Supporting subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered to specification
• Assisting with progress reporting and programme management
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements
• Managing and administering permits associated with site activities

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on highways or major civil engineering projects
• Previous experience working for a Tier 1 contractor preferred
• Strong setting out experience using survey equipment
• Experience managing permits, including excavation and work permits
• Knowledge of QA processes, ITPs, and site documentation
• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
• CSCS Card essential
