Job description

We're looking for a Site Engineer to join our Transportation team on our A417 project based in Gloucester to work in conjunction with the Site Team to ensure construction is carried out accurately; that quality is maintained; records are kept; abortive or defective work is avoided, and that satisfactory progress is achieved.

Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire - site based

Contract: Permanent, Full time

Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum + £5k car allowance + benefits

Responsibilities

As a Site Engineer, you'll be responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances. Ensuring the workforce understands the setting out information and that it is suitable for the type of work being carried out.

Your day to day will include:

• Management of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) matters of areas of direct responsibility.
• Regularly checking the setting out points, benchmarks, setting out instruments and measuring equipment
• Assisting in managing systems to record the quality of work completed, testing workmanship and materials
• Provide and maintain setting out and dimensional control to ensure accurate construction of the work
• Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered

What are we looking for?

This role of Site Engineer is great for you if have:

• Relevant construction related degree/HNC and/or background in Major civils
• Knowledge and experience of setting out and surveying within highways sector
• Relevant CSCS card
